Real estate is about homes. But not everyone in Seattle has one.
So every holiday season, the Georgia Buys team gets together with our families, our kids, and our friends in the industry. Not to close deals. To make sandwiches.
This past Christmas, we packed a room full of people and got to work. 800 PB&J sandwiches. 400 hygiene kits. All of it handed directly to Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission and their Search & Rescue team, the volunteers who go out into the streets, into encampments, and meet our neighbors face to face.
Gloves On, Sleeves Up
No playbook. No elaborate strategy. You show up, you put on gloves, and you start making sandwiches. Kids are spreading peanut butter. Friends are stuffing hygiene kits. The energy in the room is real. People laughing, music playing, assembly lines moving.

And by the end of the day, hundreds of people sleeping outside have something to eat and basic supplies most of us never think twice about.
That’s it. Simple. But 800 sandwiches deep, it hits different.
The Mission’s Search & Rescue team operates year-round, but the holidays are when the need hits hardest. Seattle winters are cold and wet. For people without shelter, a sandwich and a hygiene kit aren’t small things. They’re dignity.

More Than One Day a Year
Here’s what matters most to us: this isn’t a one-time thing.
Georgia Buys donates a portion of the proceeds from every purchase and sale directly to Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. Every deal we close moves money to the Mission. Over the past four years, that’s added up to more than $27,000. And thanks to clients and partners who’ve matched our contributions, the real impact has been doubled.
Since every $2.80 provides a meal and care for one person, that means together we’ve helped provide over 9,600 meals.
Every deal. Every closing. Not just in December.
Why the Mission
Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission has been doing this work since 1932. They’re not just handing out meals. They provide emergency shelter, addiction recovery, mental health support, and long-term housing solutions. Their approach covers the full journey: survival and stabilization for people in crisis, recovery for those ready to rebuild, and aftercare for those stepping back into independent life.
That’s the kind of partner we want to support. Not temporary relief. Real, lasting change.
Why We Bring Our Kids
Every year we invite our families. Especially the kids. Picture a five-year-old carefully placing a sandwich into a bag, totally focused, convinced they’re saving the world. Honestly? They kind of are.
It’s important to us that our children see this firsthand. That giving back isn’t something you talk about. It’s something you do. Investing in your community starts with showing up, and even small hands can make a big difference.
That’s become one of the best parts of the whole tradition.
What This Means When You Work With Us
When you sell your home to Georgia Buys, you’re not just getting a fast, fair cash offer. You’re part of something bigger. A portion of that transaction goes directly to feeding and caring for our neighbors in need.
Every closing helps fund the kind of work that changes lives. One meal, one hygiene kit, one moment of dignity at a time.
That’s how we think business should work.
Looking Ahead
We’re already looking forward to doing it again this year. More sandwiches. More hygiene kits. More families in the room. We want to beat last year’s numbers and bring even more people into the fold.
The need in Seattle isn’t slowing down. Neither are we.
